Bad Poetry Alert

Do I build false fairy castles out of summer air?
A few looks, several gestures, a sly laugh here and there
Suddenly the future is no longer ephemeral.
It is now
Stone solid
Or almost
And those builders are hard at work.
But wait
Someone forgot to pay them
And the fairy castle lies in collapse
Turrets no longer tower
The drawbridge will not lower.

Wow. Just… wow. I remember why I wrote this particular gem– I was mildly upset after a crush on a boy ended up going nowhere. But seriously, where did this cringetastic stuff come from?! Boy was my 23-yr old self dorky.
